Bahareh Ardakani, the creative force behind ArdAzAei, has been subtly developing her ready-to-wear line for several seasons. However, this season marked a pivotal moment as she formally introduced the collection to the world during Paris Fashion Week, hosting an exclusive presentation within her esteemed couture atelier on Rue Saint-Florentin.
Ardakani elaborated on her design philosophy, stating, "The core principle is to create adaptable garments that can be layered and styled in various ways, truly reflecting the dynamic spirit of couture." This season's knitwear collection, a refined extension of her July couture presentation titled 'The Folded Sea,' featured meticulously crafted 'fleurs-de-mer' gills, inspired by sea anemones, which could be manipulated to gracefully encircle the body.
Ardakani's profound interest in inventive knitwear is a natural outcome of her background in mathematics and engineering. She meticulously selected organic cashmere and virgin wool to sculpt pieces characterized by geometric ribbing. Notably, nearly half of this collection holds GOTS certification, a testament to her atelier's commitment to sustainability. For this debut, she curated a sophisticated color palette of understated luxury, featuring shades of beige, ochre, and black, with occasional touches of blue jacquard in a tank and skirt ensemble.
As her clientele can attest, Ardakani is renowned for her impeccably tailored trousers, which were prominently featured alongside coats and suiting. These pieces displayed an exacting and intricate geometric construction, echoing her brand's distinctive pentaradial couture designs. The evening wear selection included a striking short bustier dress in vibrant orange taffeta, artfully crinkled and draped to evoke an aquatic sensation. Statement coats, such as a vegetable-tanned leather piece and a beige wool creation, were meticulously cut and assembled. The collection was completed with bevel-toed stilettos, a nod to the brand's iconic aesthetic. With her design language now firmly established, it will be fascinating to observe Ardakani's future explorations as she embraces a more relaxed approach to her creative process.
Raffia bags are no longer just for beach days. This season, designers are showcasing a diverse range of raffia styles, from sophisticated totes to minimalist mini bags, perfect for city life and elegant spring ensembles. Inspired by style icons like Jane Birkin, these versatile accessories offer a touch of natural texture and effortless chic, proving their place in any fashion-forward wardrobe.

Ganni's Fall 2026 collection, conceived by creative director Ditte Reffstrup, draws inspiration from a Danish poem, "The Water Tree" by Inge Christensen, and Reffstrup's upbringing in a blustery coastal fishing community. The collection explores the inherent duality of toughness and sensitivity, mirrored in nature and the formidable women of her past. It presents a captivating blend of delicate elements like lace and fluid fabrics with robust pieces such as structured denim and chunky knits, channeling the essence of Icelandic artist Bjrk's powerful yet nuanced artistry.
