Nate Lopez has purchased the property with plans to restore both the restaurant and the cherished dance hall, offering a platform for local musicians and reviving cherished memories. April-Scarlett Keill, daughter of renowned Cajun musician August Broussard, expresses joy at this resurrection. Lopez aims to recreate the comfort, joy, and nostalgia that Harris’ once offered. Demolition will start soon, with an anticipated reopening by February of the next year.
